Serrats is a Spanish established company since 1890, specialized in preserved seafood.
The anchovies in extra virgin olive oil are captured between April and June,
when the season is at its peak, in the Bay of Biscay, north west of Spain.
This is where Serrats catches the Engraulis Encrashicholus,
following high standards of responsible fishing to respect the natural environment of the fish.
The finest quality of anchovy is then delicately processed to keep the aromatic flavor and covered with a selected organic extra virgin olive oil.
In 1890, José Serrats founded a company in Bermeo
with the aim of preserving and carrying the freshness and flavor
of the cantabrian seato the most remote places.
In addition to the exceptional quality of the fish,
he employs the new preservation techniques from France
that enable him to quickly enter European markets.
In 1914, the company started to export to the North American market
as well through its subsidiary "Hijos de José Serrats, SA".
