Cut saffron pistil : "Cut" means that the base of the pistils are cut by hand to keep only the more aromatic red part. This gives a high quality saffron.

In pistil or powder form, its honeyed and slightly bitter and pungent notes make it suitable for many uses. In cooking, it is used in meat and fish dishes and with seafood. It can be found in rice dishes, but also in desserts, sweets and chocolates.
