In Portuguese, Coxinha means "little thighs" to describe its funny shape. It was originally cooked in the 19th century in the Sao Paulo region.
The story goes that the son of the imperial princess of Brazil, Prince Gaston, had chicken as his favorite dish, but he only ate the thigh.
Coxinhas are found absolutely everywhere in Brazil and are one of the stars of the street food.
